History Field Trip

(copied from the old blog. entry dated: 5/23/2007 6:57:00 PM)

Did you know that Charleston, SC is an old city? It is so full of history and culture, that  the four of us had a great time walking through time. We visited houses that have been beautifully restored. We walked through several blocks and had the most fun peering over peoples' fences. We visited St. Michael's Church and had the privilege of walking through its cemetery. We noticed tombstones going back to the 1700's! One of the guys had even signed the U.S. Constitution! What a wonderful experience... Our hosts, Dr. and Mrs Michael Sabback, showed us their town and their wonderful house just outside of town. We really enjoyed ourselves!!! They even showed us a 1400 year old oak tree, with 17,000 square feet of shade.

Here we are in front of an old customs building, it was so cool!

We will be in the Fayetteville, Tennessee area for about a week. Next week we will travel to Kentucky, Indiana, and Clarksville, TN.  We'll be in Memphis, TN for a Sunday morning service and Gadsden, Alabama for a Sunday night service.  We are in good health, just a little tired. We are trying to catch up on sleep and regroup. So far we are logging about 1,000 miles per week and just yesterday we traveled through 4 States. So we covet your prayers for safe traveling.  Thank you for keeping us in mind.

Cleveland, Tennessee

(copied from the old blog. entry dated: 5/18/2007 11:24:00 PM)

Hey Everybody,
Well, we wanted to  let you all know that we are fine, happy and doing well. We just spent two weeks in the Cleveland, TN area at the house of Barry and Iris Ray. We had such a wonderful time with them, they are so easy to love. We also had time to visit with dear college friends some of whom we had not seen in several years.
During those two weeks, we had a chance to check-in at the Church of God World Missions offices and had a chance to meet with several leaders in missions work. It truly was a time of planning and dreaming.  So many things are happening and we see God's hand at work.  Over the past month we have had a board meeting with HHIM, published a new brochure with Wendy's brother Gabriel, and produced a new DVD with Ben Williams.  We then began itinerating and visited our home church in Gainesville, FL (Westwood Hills COG) on May 6th and the Trinity Fellowship COG in Jasper, AL on May 13th.  This Sunday we are headed to South Carolina to visit the Lakeshore Drive COG in Camden.  It's our first time in a SC church and we look forward to meeting new people and sharing with them our vision and dreams for the clinic in Honduras.  I wanted to give you a quick view of our Sunday schedule:
May 20th  Lakeshore Drive COG - Camden, SC
May 27th  Fayetteville, TN
June 3rd   Free Life COG - Boaz, AL  (close to Gadsden)
June 10th Loxley COG - Loxley, AL
June 17th  Baton Rouge, Louisiana
June 24th  Alabaster COG - Alabaster, AL (close to Birmingham)

Well, that's a general idea with a few additions in the works that I can add later.  If you need to know more specifics just drop us a line.  We are sometimes at one church in the a.m. service and another in the p.m. service. But if you'll give us a call or drop us an email we'll let you know exactly where we'll be on a day to day basis.  We thank you for your prayers and all of you who have contacted us and made arrangements to visit us or have us come visit you!  We are having the most incredible trip and are enjoying ourselves like never before!  Can't wait to see you all in person!
